Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Routt County Court Docket does not keep a site-side log of the name or case number entered into that partner box.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain ordinary business records. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the service and its users.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal web-server and analytics functions can receive technical data when a page loads.
- Your device's Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring page or site, when available
- Date and time associated with a request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics can help count visits, show which pages are useful, and reveal technical faults. A browser can block or remove cookies, though parts of the site may then work differently. Analytics data is reviewed in aggregate where practical.
What We Do With This Data
Collected technical and submitted data may be used for a narrow set of operating needs.
- Delivering pages and maintaining site security
- Routing a query to the selected outside search service
- Measuring broad page use and improving content
- Finding errors, abuse, and performance problems
- Supporting advertising shown with site content
No Court-Record Data on File
Routt County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of Routt County case records. It publishes general directions to the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search, the Clerk of Court at Routt County Combined Court, and municipal clerks. Official court information is governed by Chief Justice Directive 05-01 and related Colorado court rules, not by this site's visitor database. Colorado Open Records Act requests to county offices are also distinct from requests for a Judicial Branch ROA or filed document. This site is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes that appear on content pages. A partner's privacy policy controls information submitted to its tool, including storage, use, disclosure, and deletion practices. Routt County Court Docket cannot alter those terms. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Colorado Judicial Branch pages, Routt County offices, municipal courts, statutes, or outside search services. The destination's policy applies once the link is opened. Advertising providers may also use their own technology to measure activity or select ads, and that processing occurs under their rules.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold as a list. Limited data may be available to service providers that host, secure, measure, or support the website; to a search partner when a visitor chooses its tool; or to authorities when disclosure is legally required. Providers receive only what is reasonably needed for their assigned function.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational steps are used to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No internet transmission or storage system can promise perfect security. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive court identifiers, payment data, or confidential case material by ordinary email.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults seeking general public court information. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information may request review and deletion.
Your Data Rights
Depending on applicable law and the type of data involved, a visitor may ask what personal information is retained, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. A request may require identity verification, and legal recordkeeping duties can limit deletion. These visitor-data requests are separate from correcting court information under CJD 05-01, which must be pursued through the Judicial Branch process.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the website, providers, or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after posting means the revised terms apply.
