Check Routt County Court Schedule

Start with the Routt County court schedule when you need a hearing date in the county's state trial courts. The Clerk of Court keeps the record. A docket search works by case number, party name, business, or attorney, with a date range covering the likely event. Each entry can list time, duration, hearing type, courtroom, and how you appear. The schedule is not the notice itself, nor the clerk's Register of Action. Municipal courts run their own calendars. Before travel or remote attendance, recheck the Routt County court schedule, since resets happen.

How the Routt County Court Calendar Works

Colorado's Judicial Branch runs one online docket portal for the whole state. It covers the Routt County court calendar. The Routt-filtered docket search lists upcoming settings for County Court and District Court. Here means the schedule of matters. Nothing more. It is not a full register of filings in a case. For charges, sentences, minute orders, and past settings, the clerk's Register of Action holds the real chronology, so treat the calendar view as a preview of court dates rather than the file itself.

Filters help you narrow a Routt County docket search fast. Choose court type, judicial district, county, a date range, case number pieces, a party or business name, or an attorney. Results print or export cleanly. Watch the pagination too. A common name can stretch across many pages. The state does not publish an official update schedule for entries, so a recent notice, a signed court order, or a quick call to the clerk beats any printout that has gone stale.

The same scheduling model powers the statewide calendar interface. It lists future settings for every county on one official page.

That is why the statewide portal helps as a fallback. Even so, the right county and case filters still matter.

Routt Court Schedule Date Filters

Date options on the Routt County court calendar portal include Today, one week, one month, three months, six months, or a single specific date. A date alone will not return results. The system insists on at least one more filter. The best one is the full case number, broken into its four-digit year, class letters, and sequence. No case number handy? A party or attorney name works, though a broad name drags in extra court dates you will have to sort through.

The official Routt search page supplies the local field set.

The search controls show plainly that a date alone is not enough, which helps you avoid an empty result from incomplete input.

Routt County Court Date Lookups

Each channel has its job. The online calendar works best for a state setting. The citation, summons, notice, or court order in hand names the court and often holds the controlling date. When dates clash, the Combined Court clerk sorts it out at 970-879-5020 ext. 7 or at the Unit 200 counter. For a reset or an older event, the official Record/Document Request Form pulls the ROA so the docket history can be traced. A party's lawyer can confirm the operative order too. The clerk offers no public lobby terminal and posts no daily paper listing, so count on neither.

  1. Read the court name and case number from the latest paper.
  2. Open the Routt calendar and select the correct court type.
  3. Choose a range that includes the expected date and add a number or name filter.
  4. Check time, duration, hearing type, appearance method, location, and courtroom.
  5. Compare the result with the latest order or notice.
  6. Call the clerk at once if the sources disagree or the event is absent.

Municipal cases take a separate route. Steamboat Springs publishes its hearing pattern, Hayden puts out annual court dates, and Oak Creek or Yampa hearings should be confirmed through those town clerks. Don't expect a state docket search to list every city-code case.

Routt Monday Court Setting Calls

Routt District Court sets dates in a Monday session that runs 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. If Monday falls on a holiday, the call moves to Tuesday at the same hour. Dial 970-870-2360, bridge 32323#. Each office has to have someone on the line. The court will not hand out several dates to circulate later.

Setting call: The requesting party files the notice with the presiding judge's Webex information after the date is set.

This call sets a date. It is not automatically the merits hearing. If a case-management conference gets scheduled, a joint or stipulated case-management order should be filed first. Routt does not currently issue those orders for District civil cases, though that practice can change.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

Read a Routt County setting line one field at a time. A vague label like Hearing tells you less than Court Trial or Plea Hearing, so check the event name first. Appearance can be blank, telephone, in person, or virtual. If that field is blank, treat it as unstated rather than as approval to use Webex. The public docket may also leave off the judge. Study the courtroom and notice details with care.

Date and timeThe scheduled start, subject to a later order or reset.
DurationTime reserved on the calendar, not a promise of exact start or finish.
Case numberYear, class, and sequence linking the setting to the file.
Hearing typeExamples include First Hearing, Status Conference, Plea Hearing, Return Date, and Court Trial.
LocationRoutt County location for the state setting.
AppearanceIn person, telephone, virtual, or blank, with authorization controlled by the court.
CourtroomThe assigned room, including local rooms 1A, 2A, or 2B where shown.

The Colorado Judicial glossary defines docket as the court's schedule.

That definition explains why a calendar result does not contain the whole case history.

Routt Virtual Court Schedule Rules

The current Routt virtual courtroom directory maps Courtrooms 1A, 2A, and 2B.

Routt County court schedule virtual courtroom directory

The directory helps you find an approved connection for a Routt County court docket, but its warning matters just as much: watching a livestream does not count as an appearance.

Virtual attendance always needs court approval. A passive viewer can still be treated as absent. Check the appearance field. Read the latest order, and confirm the judge's connection details before your hearing. A public stream does not grant permission to take part, and courtroom assignments plus Webex links can change after a reset.

Winter travel makes early confirmation practical. The official district overview puts about 70 miles and 90 minutes between Grand and Routt, with routes affected by conditions. Bad weather does not cancel an appearance by itself. Check official closure information and get approval before you change how you attend.

When a Court Date Moves

A continuance moves the event. It does not erase the old case history. The live calendar may show only the current setting, while the ROA keeps the minute order, the old date, and the new notice. A setting that vanishes does not mean the case was dismissed; it may sit outside your date range or await indexing.

If the notice and the portal disagree, search again with the exact case number and a wider range. Then call the clerk. Ask for the ROA plus the reset, continuance, or minute order when the sequence matters. For a municipal case, contact the city clerk. The court's current order controls over anything you saved earlier.

The printable weekly grid makes a good working list. It is not a permanent record. The official printable Routt calendar provides that view.

Routt Civil Dates Aren't All Hearings

Routt civil scheduling hides a few traps worth knowing. County civil money returns sit on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m., but that date is an answer deadline, not a hearing. A District Court eviction date works the same way. The hearing gets set only after an answer is filed. Small Claims returns run in person in Courtroom 1A, and parties should arrive 30 minutes early for mediation.

Calendar label or eventWhat it means locally
County civil money returnThursday answer date, not the merits hearing
District eviction dateAnswer date before a later hearing is set
Small Claims returnIn-person return with early mediation arrival
Temporary Orders HearingInterim domestic-relations relief

Read the summons and the order itself. Dates that look alike can carry different duties, and a calendar label alone will not spell out every step due before the event.

Routt Municipal Court Calendars

Routt County holds four incorporated municipalities, and each runs its own city calendar. Steamboat Springs generally convenes Municipal Court on the first and third Wednesday. Those sessions start at 5:00 p.m. Hayden usually meets the first and third Monday at 7:00 p.m. Oak Creek has historically held monthly court. Yampa offers no official public docket portal. Call the town clerk there for any court date.

Steamboat Springs
Use the city hearing page and Municipal Court clerk for the operative setting.
Hayden
Use the annual court-date PDF and clerk fallback.
Oak Creek
Confirm the present schedule with the town clerk.
Yampa
Contact the town clerk for a non-record municipal court date.

City payment portals are not court calendars. The citation stays your first source for the court, the deadline, and any required appearance. A Sheriff's ticket may land in state County Court instead of a municipal docket.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Act immediately after a missed Routt setting. Check the portal for any new event. Call the Combined Court clerk, and reach out to counsel if you have one. Ask whether the court entered an order or a warrant. Ask about a bond action or a new notice, too. The old event dropping off the docket means nothing on its own. For a city case, call the municipal clerk named on the citation.

Missed a setting? Failure to appear can bring serious court action, and a livestream view does not count as appearing.

Contact the correct clerk or your lawyer immediately and follow the court's instructions for the next step.

Seek legal advice when an order, warrant, bond issue, or deadline may be involved.

A Routt County docket search can confirm a later setting. Only the court, though, can tell you what action the missed date now requires.
